Examples of Just for Fun Lessons published so far for 2023-2024:

August

Grades 6-8 -

As Students learn to recognize and distinguish between narratives, informational, opinion and argument texts, put those skills to use as you Get to know a little bit about them.

September

Grades 2-4

This month, students will get to participate in the dot celebration and then use their Empowering Writers skills to write specific details about their art. 

October

Grades K-1

In this lesson, students will learn to frame up complete sentences generating information learned from nonfiction text about farmer’s markets, farming, fruits & vegetables. 

November

Grades 2-4

 In this engaging lesson, students will learn how perspective changes the way things are seen depending on who you are and what you do.

December

Grades K-2

Kick off this narrative process piece by choosing your favorite versions of the Gingerbread Man to read aloud.

 Students will then help you to write the summary of each version preparing them to create their own story plans.
