January 2022 Grades 2-5 Lesson of the Month

Grades 2-5 January Lesson

Grades 2-5 students will be writing a Science Riddle using any of your own science topics. Learning about a topic and then using that knowledge to inform writing is a skill that all authors use. In addition to using their powers of observation, you’ll build in powerful vocabulary skills and have fun writing riddles for others to solve.

Checkout more lessons on Elaborative Detail on the HUB, for example:

Grade 2 Narrative - Section 3, Lesson 6, "Creating Elaborative Segments"- HUB users have access to a Modeled Lesson video and Direct to Student activities.  Teachers can assign the Animated Video Lesson, Skill Power Powerpoint and Interactive Slides with ease to students. *Each grade level Narrative guide has Section 3 - Elaborative Detail, access your guide to see the details.

Another example: Grade 4 Informational, Section 3, Lesson 7 "Using Detail-Generating Questions". Teachers, watch a Modeled Lesson, then assign the Animated Video Lesson, Skill Power Powerpoint and Interactive Slides to your students with a few simple clicks.

Don't have the HUB, sign up for a trial to see this exact Narrative lesson on "Creating Elaborative Segments!" or the Informational "Using Detail-Generating Questions".
