May 2021 Grades 2-4 Lesson of the Month

May 2-4

Students will build on the important vocabulary of opinion/argument writing. They will share their opinions about their favorite season, but go a step further and think about how others might disagree with their opinions and learn to write a counter-argument. By exploring opinions and how others might not agree with them, they begin to see how to acknowledge the other side of an issue and politely turn it around. As always, plenty of scaffolding along with sentence starters and examples will be provided.
