May 2021 Grades 5-8 Lesson of the Month

Students will dive into argument writing as they grapple with the issue: Should we have year-round school? They will learn the vocabulary of argument writing including, claim, issue, supporting details, and counter-argument. Plenty of sentence starters and examples are provided for students as they write a fully elaborated paragraph.
