Changing Standards

Kylene Reed
June 9, 2019

If you are a teacher in Texas, you are well aware that our TEKS are changing next year for ELAR. And if you are a teacher period, you know that changing standards is an ongoing process that challenges us all.... I am just so thankful that I am using EW in my classroom and at our school. One- they have already aligned the EW lessons to our new standards. Two- it is just GOOD teaching. I feel like when I teach using the tools that Empowering Writers gives my students, I am preparing them for LIFE- that is what it is about for me. I want them to have a solid foundation that they can continue to build upon no matter the stage in life they are at. So if you don't have it already, follow the link below to print your alignment documents so that you can start making a plan for next year!
