K-1 Pacing Guides for Getting Ready to Write

The scope and sequence documents are designed to serve as a guide for planning your instruction. We have provided two types of pacing guides, monthly and weekly, for both kindergarten and first grade.

The Monthly Scope and Sequence document is designed to serve as an overview of the lessons for a given month. It is less structured than the Weekly Scope and Sequence document. Teachers who are familiar with Empowering Writers and have used the Getting Ready to Write resource previously may find this monthly overview the perfect tool for planning.

For teachers who are new to Empowering Writers or who prefer to follow a more structured plan, be sure to use the Weekly Scope and Sequence.
