Tomorrow, we have a teacher prep day, and my first-grade teachers are preparing their MLK Jr lessons for this week! This lesson is one we do each year, and our students absolutely love it! Beginning with a great nonfiction read-aloud, students first recall important information about MLK Jr. The lesson incorporates key vocabulary and character traits for students to use in their writing about Dr. King. It even comes with a suggested art connection and a complete booklet for students to display their finished writing. I hope you love this lesson as much as we do! Download it today to use this month or next when studying Black History Month. Be sure to check out my full post on teaching the lesson- Response to Informational Texts.
